Dr. Karis Cooper was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington, and has dedicated her career to caring for the community she grew up in. She graduated from Hudson's Bay High School, where she excelled as a javelin thrower, earning the opportunity to compete at the University of Oregon. There, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Exercise & Movement Science while becoming a nationally ranked collegiate athlete and two-time All-American.
Dr. Karis went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States (formerly Western States Chiropractic College) in 2005. During her time there, she served as Vice President of the Sports Medicine Club and provided care for athletes at numerous local sporting events.
In 2006, Dr. Karis co-founded Cooper Chiropractic Center for Health & Wellness alongside her husband, Dr. Matthew Cooper, building a practice rooted in connection, clinical excellence, and whole-family care.
Her clinical focus centers on family wellness, with advanced training in prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric chiropractic care. She is Webster Technique certified and a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), reflecting her commitment to specialized care for mothers and children. She is also trained in Craniosacral Therapy, offering a gentle and effective approach for conditions such as headaches, jaw tension, infant colic, and feeding challenges.
Dr. Karis has a deep passion for helping patients understand their bodies especially through posture, movement, and ergonomics, empowering them to build healthier, more sustainable lifestyles. She also gives back to the community as a volunteer javelin coach at Columbia River High School.
Patients often describe Dr. Karis as compassionate, attentive, and highly intuitive — someone who truly listens and partners with them in their health journey.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their two daughters, and their cream retriever, Nordic. Her favorite ways to recharge include hiking, wakesurfing, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
