Conditions We Treat

Plantar Fasciitis

That sharp heel pain when you take your first steps in the morning is one of the most recognizable symptoms in musculoskeletal medicine — and one of the most treatable.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the plantar fascia — the thick band of connective tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot from the heel bone to the toes. The hallmark symptom is sharp, stabbing heel pain with the first steps in the morning or after periods of rest, which typically improves with movement but can return after prolonged activity.

It's one of the most common causes of heel pain, affecting millions of people each year. Left untreated or managed only with rest and stretching, it often becomes a chronic, recurring problem. The right treatment addresses not just the local inflammation but the biomechanical factors driving it.

Our Approach

We evaluate the foot and ankle in the context of the entire lower kinetic chain — including the knee, hip, pelvis, and lumbar spine — because biomechanical dysfunction anywhere in that chain can contribute to plantar fascia overload. Treatment typically includes soft tissue therapy to the plantar fascia and calf, chiropractic adjustment of the foot and ankle, and — critically — Class IV Deep Tissue Laser, which is highly effective at reducing plantar fascia inflammation and accelerating tissue healing.

We also address contributing factors such as gait mechanics, footwear, and activity modification. The goal is not just to eliminate your current pain but to address the conditions that produced it.
